The Mission
About Us
Transform 2 Better Me is dedicated to empowering individuals to overcome life's challenges through the transformative journey of healing, forgiveness, and purpose discovery. Anchored in the profound principles of resilience and recovery, we specialize in navigating the complex pathways from trauma to triumph. Recognizing the intricate interplay of physical and spiritual well-being, our mission is grounded in biblical teachings, guiding each individual towards a deeper understanding and integration of God's design in their lives. We believe in the boundless potential of every soul to rise, renew, and realize their divine destiny, transforming adversity into strength and sorrow into joy.
Meet Elizabeth
I have been reading since I was 4 years old and writing since I was 11. I have always had a desire to help other people tell their authentic stories. I believe everyone has a story that is unique, cathartic, and which has the potential to change lives. There is no way you have lived your life to keep that story hidden.
The youngest of 7 girls born to a preacher and a nurse/cosmetologist, service, leadership, and commitment are characteristics ingrained into my personality. I am a graduate of The Ohio State University, with both a BA and MA in Journalism and Communications.
Through my spiritual and religious experience, I have skills and experience in spiritual leadership and curriculum development, workshop and retreat facilitation, writing, and publishing. I have served officially on the local, regional and national levels of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church as an exhorter, teacher, grant writer, administrator, and project coordinator of programs for single mothers, after-school and summer programs for youth, and personal development for male teens. I am currently the Sunday School teacher at Praise Temple C.M.E.
Most recently, I spent two years building the Courageous Community of Mom Change Agents: Dialogue to Action, a national group of 1500 diverse women working toward cross-racial solidarity through truth and accountability. Black leaders and voices inform and advise the process while anti-racists lead in and actively do the work, creating measurable change across racial lines.
My most treasured work is parenting. I am the mother of 2 children, both young adults, and the grandparent to two amazing grands, a boy and a girl. I am also the reverse parent for my mother, “the Mary” for whom I am a caregiver. She brings me eternal joy and is the source of many social media stories and possibly a best-selling book.
